MANAGING VIDAKO PODCAST || Vidako FC Player Rating vs Galaxy FC

Over the past years, Akwatia has been a hotbed for prospects to invest in talented footballers. It is the capital town of Denkyembour district located in the southwest part of Eastern Region.

The town has a couple of football clubs with experienced coaches who have the love and passion for the game - giving out all their best on and off the pitch to look for talents, train them, instill discipline, and prepares them for the future.

Vidako fc is on the card as one of the reputable football clubs in Akwatia and its environs. The Club has treasury chest of talents who play their heart and soul defending the crest of the club.

However, on Sunday (March 7), Vidako enjoyed a comfortable evening in a mouthwatering 3rd Division friendly match against Galaxy fc (from Topease) at the Akwatia G.C.D Walkers Club field as the latter failed to find the back of the net in a convincing 4:0 victory for the home side.

Vidako boss, Francis Kumako, has transformed his team into a solid, well-drilled unit over the past few years and they cruised another victory on Sunday by out-thinking and outplaying the self-acclaimed giants from Topease. Obviously, his tactical acumen was flawless on the day; making astute substitutions in the 2nd half which left their opponent chasing their own shadows on the pitch.

In truth, While Galaxy fc boss had only got Plan B in the dugout, Coach Francis had all the Alphabets in his pocket.

VIDAKO fc - Player Ratings

Here is how the players performed:

Okyere - Goalkeeper (7/10)

Okyere was an absolute beast to keep a clean sheet throughout the 1st half before he was replaced early in the 2nd half. Although, it was like a normal day at the office for him, he made a couple of saves early in the game to give Vidako hope. He made a total of 3 saves, all of them when the score was 0:0 and 1:0 respectively.

Bismark - Right Back (7.5/10)

Nicknamed Tinny, he put on another strong performanceHe struggled early in offense but got better as he settled in the game. He worked with every bit of his muscle and with his outrageous work rate which allowed him to overlap or foray into attacking positions severally. Bismark, provided an assist through a magnificent freekick for Nkrumah to break the deadlock with a fine header inside the first 15 minutes. He completed the 1st half with 4 tackles, 3 interceptions, 1 clearance and 3 key passes. He was also substituted early in the 2nd half.

Asare - Left Back ( 6.5/10)

Asare did not have the best of game. His timing and positioning sense in defense was great but his offensive contribution was questionable on the evening. He did not offer much going into the final third unlike his compatriot, Bismark. In all, he made 3 clearance, 2 tackles, lost few passes but was very quick in recovering.

Slyvester - Center Back ( 8/10)

Sylvester worked well with Saviour to help Vidako keep an important clean sheet. Again, he nearly scored from a free-kick as he punched the ball directly to the goalkeeper. The goalkeeper decided to hold the ball firmly into his hands but mistakenly touched his left hand due to the power behind the ball and he was so lucky to have seen the ball flipped over the cross bar for a corner kick.  Morever, he provided a nice through pass to the opposition penalty box for Nkrumah to add to his tally the 2nd goal but unfortunately for him, he missed it. Sylvester made 3 crucial passes in the offensive area, won 4 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2  clearance. In all, he gifted his opponent 3 fouls.

Saviour - Center Back - ( 7/10)

Saviour caught the eye of many fans as he once again played his heart out and was very impressive in his defensive output leading to another clean sheet on sunday. As masterclass in defence, He won four tackles, 3 interceptions, 3 crucial clearance. He played a major role in restricting their opponents to only 3 shots on target when the final whistle was blown. They formed a robust backline.

Amartey -  Defensive Midfielder - (7/10)

Amartey struggled in the early stages of the game. He lost some passes on gratis to his opponent and committing some fouls in that period. But he began to pick up the pieces as he won 3 tackles and 3 interceptions. While he was intelligent in his defensive duties, as usual, he made 3 accurate long passes and he was the master of one-two passes on the field. Amartey, was replaced by Kpene in the 2nd half.

Survive - RW  (7.5/10)

He often found himself in some proper attacking positions as he registered his name on the scoresheet with the 2nd goal. He did not contributed much after he got his goal. He had 2 dribbles and did not get any proper shot on goal thereafter. He missed a massive chance in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper when Atsu made a mad sprint with the ball on the left flank and delivered a sweet cross to Survive and instead of just placing the ball unto the first pole, he decided otherwise and hit the ball unto the second pole which went wide and did not bear any fruit.

Doe - Attacking Midfielder- (8/10)

Doe had another excellent two-way performance at the heart of Vidako midfield. He completed 3 dribbles and 3 key passes while also contributing with 4 tackles and 2 interceptions. He was a threat going forward as he made a fine dribble passed his marker but his strike went off target. He also missed two passes and was substituted in early in the 2nd half.

Addo - Forward - (8/10)

When addo plays, he is usually decisive for Vidako. Though a striker cannot be elite in every single match, he really fought in terms of his prowess in the final third. Addo is not only there to score goals, he is there to bring the offensive animation of his training to life. No wonder he provided a fine assist with his brilliant dribbling skills; passed two defenders and connected with Survive before the latter struck home second.

Nkrumah - Attacking Midfielder (8/10)

He connected so well with his teammates going forward. All his moves were so smooth, so coordinated, so controlled, like watching Roger Federer play tennis. He was on target with a spectacular header from a free kick coolly curled by Bismark. Missed a good chance with a holy through pass from Atsu.

Atsu © - LW - (9/10)

Captain fantastic (Atsu) was my "King of the match" as he provided a jaw dropping 5 key passes in offense.  Atsu is a wonderful player . He reminds me of Luis Suarez, how he gives his team such a lift - such a catalyst. His passing and vision created the majority of chances for Vidako. He does not need many touches but yet was fouled the most on the pitch. He worked tirelessly and was everywhere on the field offering much in the final third and also drawing back to support the backline when the team was in danger.  He scored from a spot kick in the later part of first half to give his team a 3-goal lead. He is a talented footballer with much pace and always usher his teammates where to be, forming offensive web.

SUBSTITUTION

Kpene - DM - (7.5/10)

What a pleasure it is to witness Kpene do what he does best. He completed 4 key passes in the match. A dead-ball specialist with a huge box of street football tricks, Kpene has the potential to develop into serious Ghanaian talent. It been a gift watching Kpene in matches. The way he covered the pitch, doubling up with Robert in the defensive area and using his technical tricks to completely rattle the middle-third and final-third, and using his body language to fool the defender, were a standouts. His long passes were exceptional. He got one shot on target just after the penalty box with his gifted left foot full of power.

Robert - LB - (8/10)

It was an evening to remember for him as he troubled the scoresheet by smashing the ball with his gifted left foot unto the second pole. He added the 4th goal of the match and contributed a lot in the final third. He was calm in defense and made 3 interceptions, won 95 percent of his duels.

In all, Vidako put on better performance and deserved that convincing victory.

Cheers boys!!!!!
